Yep. I've been reading your posts. It's how I know we've been through tough spots at the same time - but, mostly alone. I got a "surprise package!" It isn't a surprise that he's here with me. (If you know me - you are used to seeing a pup right along side.) He is a Surprise Package because he doesn't look like his mother and, we don't know his father. He is getting taller every day. I listened to a terrific talk twice which explains why some are "hated by the world." Well, okay, then. But, knowing I have plenty of company and our task is to "encourage one another" makes things better. After a couple of "dang-if-I-do-dang-if-I don't" years I FINALLY got my camera out. ( Because the pupster wants to share with his people.) Art Supplies have come out of storage so, new art in the mail on the wall filling notebooks or feeding a sense of JOY. Yep. It's a start. I spent a bit of time looking up the phrase . . . "A Few Good Men" sigh useless It is alluded to in several places and It is stuck in my thinking at the moment but I have not found the original - or primary source. Still, I have known - a few good men. The one on my mind I call "Pops" He insisted I am not a "foster" or "extra" - He insisted I am his own. Once I was afraid of him because he was larger than life. I am remembering him especially this month because his birthday was in February. I have his bible: I am blessed to have it because my name is in the cover. See, I helped purchase it for his birthday Feb. 19th That inked in name - caused family members to send it to me. I am savoring a book that is so refreshing it must be shared. Here's a picture of the cover: "Bitterbrush Country" by Diane Josephy Peavey Nope, it's Not a "story-time recommend." I saw this book offered on a friend's eBay page and purchased it. The writing is inviting. The book is filled with true stories. Each story is short . . . and true . . . and . . . like a vacation in my heart. The author started sharing her story on Public Radio. The listening audience enjoyed the tales and wanted a book. These stories have wide open spaces and honest real-life tales. Maybe, like me you'll find a copy and feel lifted someplace nice inside yourself. No, I'm NOT making money off you. I didn't even include a link. Perhaps you'll find a copy on some resale site or shop Or, maybe you'll purchase from retail - and give a gift to a friend. Me?
