Every year this lovely tree has something to tell me.
Today, the message is simple. It's time to fill the bird feeder.
We had some warm days, then a hard freeze. Still this tree is showing out.
What a gift.
All the changes this tree goes through amazes me.
Always, in the proper time it shows out in splendor.
Then, rotates properly through each season . . . always similar, every round even more stunning.
I wonder if life does something similar? Do you think we have a default like that?
Our seasons might vary in length.
In Alice in Wonderland, Caterpillar asks Alice who she is. Her reply:
"I - I hardly know, sir, just at present - at least I knew who I was when I got up this morning,
but I think I must have been changed several times since then."
I often feel like that.
My life reflects it, too.
I remember several teachings about change. Mentions of Eras and Ages . . . are those different "seasons," too?
Without going on about ancient ideas - I'll just share what Wikipedia says about geological time:
Eras are divided into periods, epochs and ages.
Era: several hundred million years
Epoch: tens of millions of years
Age: millions of years
Perhaps someday we may understand the who, what and where of our own life adventures.
Right now? I'll fill that feeder.
Thank you for sharing this adventure with me.
love & love,
